Project Gemini was the second series of manned spacecraft missions flown by NASA in 1965 and 1966. Its objective was to develop techniques for advanced space travel, including landing on the moon and “walking” in space outside of the ship. The "Gemini" designation comes from the fact that each spacecraft held two crewmen, as "gemini" in Latin means "twins". Gemini is also the name of the third constellation of the Zodiac which includes the twin stars, Castor and Pollux.
We thought Gemini was a great name for our team because, like the brave astronauts who flew those missions, sixth graders entering middle school are embarking on an adventure, exploring new territory, and reaching for the stars! We are excited to help them succeed, so let us know if you have any concerns. Kathy Ramke will be our contact for scheduling conferences at 841-1420. Available times will be Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 - 10:30am.

FYI:
Parent Connection is disabled for parents until August 29th to give our hardworking faculty a chance to get on their feet grade-wise. If parents attempt to log on, they will see a screen stating this.
If a student is registered for Parent Connection for last year, he/she is still registered and the parent does not need to do anything. Registration is good from kindergarten through 12th grade provided the student is continuously enrolled at AISD. If he/she moves out and then back in again, he/she will need to register again.
Parents with questions can contact our attendance clerk, Martha Ladyman. She will be happy to help and can provide PIN numbers for parents.
Typepad has a link to Parent Connection. Just look under the Counselor Section.
