Book Fair has come and gone...

A HUGE thank you to Jen Bamberg, Jill Spencer, Trevor Ray Thompson, book fair volunteers, and Murchison PTA for all their hard work and support of the Book Fair. Another thank you goes out to the Mighty Matador (aka Dan Shane) for a guest appearance during Family Night.

If you are interested in the photos from Family Night, be sure to stop by trevoray.com and view the pictures of many caped crusaders.

Money raised will be going towards new nonfiction books, orange kik-steps to get to those hard to reach books, and other library goodies.

We look forward to next year's book fair!

BOOK FAIR January 30 - February 3

Are you ready for some super hero action? Join us at this year's Heroic Book Fair to experience first hand just how much power a book can wield. (That's the power of words... not the physical power of a book being wielded!)

Join us Thursday evening for our Family Night from 4-6. We will have door prizes for trivia contest, Free Super Hero Photo Shoot by Trevor Ray Thompson, 2012 Lone Star titles, and more!!

Don't forget to start saving your change! This year, our One for Books will team up with IB in supporting the Davis Moon Project, a Central Texas charity whose mission is "to be a resource for children’s libraries, schools and orphanages in Ethiopia by organizing literacy missions to deliver books to Ethiopia." For every dollar raised or spent in support of this program, Scholastic will donate matching funds to a charity stateside such as Toys for Tots, Kids in Distressed Situations, or Kids in Need Foundation. 3rd Annual Austin Teen Book Festival

  Mark the date... October 1st, 10am-5pm, at the Palmer Events Center! The Austin Teen Book Festival is hosting over 27 authors who write books just for teens. Authors include:

Library Orientation and Lone Star Book Trailers

Welcome Back!

Welcome Back Murchison Matadors! I'm looking forward to a great year and hope to see you all in the library.

This year, we have a few changes to our library program. We will continue to remain open after school until 4:30, however we will no longer be handing out morning passes. Lunch passes will not start up until we make sure there aren't any conflicts with other classes and we have enough volunteer coverage for lunches.

I'm looking forward to continued clubs in the library such as chess club and card club. Stay tuned for future posts on days and times.
