'Smarter Than Yesterday'
7th Grade Study Skills
Last week the students discussed No Place for Hate topics in the Iceberg and Pipe Cleaner activities. They also had computers in the classroom to create presentations for other classes and take care of other computer related assignments.
Weekly Binder/Agenda Check:
You should have the following every day and grades for this will be taken randomly. Your weekly check is now comprised of 5 parts. 5 out of 5 will give you a 100.
1. reading material
2. an agenda that is being used
3. an organized binder
4. Grades written down in your agenda on a weekly basis
5. parent/guardian signature every week in your agenda
***You are now responsible to have your parent or guardian sign your agenda on a weekly basis***
Tutoring:
I also posted the 7th grade tutoring times in the room and gave you all a handout with this information. It is your responsibility to find missing work using gradespeed (class time is designated for this), get missing work from your teachers, and bring it to class to work on during your independent time. For example, if you are not passing math, you should be working on math.
Computer access:
-Computer access is for school related work. There are strict guidelines as far as how to handle computers and what you are looking at. Failure to comply can result in loss of your computer privilege. For example: writing your paper for Mr. Shane's class, checking typepad to print a missing NF or getting other assignments, writing a paper, working on a Powerpoint/Prezi/Comic Life, or finding a current event for your Science assignment.
