Attendance is a major focus for AISD. If the students are not in class we cannot instruct them and they cannot learn. In an effort to create a system to correctly track our absences, the district has implemented the school messenger attendance calling system. Absences will be reported to parents through an automated phone call each night. If you feel this absence is an error, please contact Grant Hennig, our attendance clerk, at 414-4518. Parents can also track attendance through Parent Connection.
As a campus we are going to implement a standardized absence and tardy form. All absences should be reported by the parent using the correct campus form. Please attach any necessary documentation to the form. The form will be located in the office and is also downloadable below. Please note the only absences that will be excused are doctor’s appointments, illness and funerals. Please do not call the office when your child is absent. Phone calls are not adequate documentation for the district. Have your child bring the absence form upon their return.
